BOTTOM LINE: We will grow closer to God when we praise Him because He is worthy of our worship!
CHALLENGE DAY 36-40: Kids will commit to setting aside 10 minutes each day to praise God. They can praise Him by singing. They can keep a journal to record God’s goodness. They can create pieces of art dedicated to God. Kids should look back at this 40-day journey and celebrate all that God has done.

5 Simple Ways to Make This Week’s Lesson Stick
IN THE CAR: On the drive home, ask your child what he learned about this week:
What is this week’s challenge? To praise and worship God! We can praise God wherever we are and there are so many things to praise Him for. Paul and Silas even praised God in jail because they trusted He was with them even in the hard times. Acts 16:22-34, Paul and Silas in Jail

HANGING OUT: Make this week’s lesson real: Ask your kid for two ways they can praise God.
Ask your kid for two blessings they can praise God for.

AT DINNER: Here are some great discussion starters:
- Why do you think Paul and Silas were able to praise God in jail instead of showing fear?
- How do you think this light that Paul and Silas had in their hearts had an impact on the jailer?
- What are some ways that Jesus’ light can shine through you

AT BEDTIME: Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse:
“In the same way, let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will bring praise to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (NIRV)

PARENT TIME: This series moves beyond the church walls into your home! Our goal is for kids to grow closer to God and become better servants as they take on the 40-day challenge. We’ve come to the end of our 40-Day Challenge and Days 36-40 are all about praising God. Create a few opportunities for your child to worship God this week by: playing praise and worship songs on the radio, taking a walk in nature and talking about God’s amazing creation, and sharing a few praises of good things God has done in your life with your kid. The more we put our focus on God, the less we focus on distractions that can sometimes become the source of our worship.

-How is baptism also a good way to share Jesus with others?
-What are two things you can do to spend time with God this week to prepare your heart to share Him with others?

Challenge day 29-35 is all about sharing the gospel of Jesus! We can encourage our kids to share their own testimonies with friends or invite a friend to church. As the week progresses, check in with your child as a reminder of their challenge and to provide advice on how to share. Remind them that oftentimes we see opportunities and ignore them. When an opportunity arises, take it!
