VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!

JULY 13th - 17th

Hello church family!

Plan your summer now!

This year’s vacation bible school is True North! We have Jesus—our true north! Give kids a rock-solid foundation and point them to Jesus, their unmovable, unshakable friend forever!

Guide kids on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where northern lights glow over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and glistening glaciers. As kids trek the tundra, they’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus, True North VBS shows them that he is a faithful friend we can always trust. He’s our True North!

SUNDAY LESSON 07/13

NBKIDS parents be sure to join us this Sunday for service. This Sunday in NBKIDS at 9 and 11 we will be talking about The call of Isaiah. Please make sure you talk to your kids about it afterwards! Make sure your kids attend!

New Beginnings Church ABQ 4770 Montgomery Blvd ABQ NM 87109. Below is some info on what we went over and the short video we watched to accompany our lesson. Watch with your kids and partner with us to teach your kids the Bible!

BOTTOM LINE: God will prepare us for the plans he has for us. OBJECTIVE: Kids will learn that God will prepare them for every challenge he sets before them.
KEY PASSAGE: Isaiah 6, Call of Isaiah
MEMORY VERSE: “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” Psalm 34:11 (NIV)

IN THE CAR: Ask your child what they learned about this week on the drive home: Today we read the story of Isaiah’s call to ministry. Before God called Isaiah to be a prophet, he purified him by sending an angel to touch a burning coal to Isaiah’s mouth. Kids will learn that when God has a job to do he will make us ready to do it. Isaiah 6, Call of Isaiah

HANGING OUT: Make this week’s lesson real: Do your kids have sports practice this week? Music lessons? Some other sort of practice or rehearsal? On the way home, ask them how their practice went, and ask how that practice will prepare them for later on. Then draw a comparison between their practice and preparing to do God’s will.

AT DINNER: Here are some great discussion starters:
- What did God do when he touched Isaiah’s lips with the burning coal?
- Why did Isaiah answer, “Send me!” when God said he needed someone to speak to Israel?
- How does God prepare us for the plans he has for us?

AT BEDTIME: Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse: “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” Psalm 34:11 (NIV)

PARENT TIME: What you need to know: Where are you holding back from God? Has he called you to serve in leadership? To teach? Or share the gospel? Do not hold back because you don’t feel prepared. God will prepare you, and he will do his work in your life.

IN THE CAR: Ask your child what they learned about this week on the drive home: Today we read the story of the Israelites passing through the Red Sea. When the Egyptians were closing in on the Israelites, God parted the Red Sea so that they could pass through to safety. It’s a story that reminds us that God will come through for us in unexpected ways. Exodus 13:17-14:31, Parting the Red Sea

HANGING OUT: Make this week’s lesson real: Do something to surprise someone you know. With your kids, surprise a friend, a neighbor, or a family member. How did it make the person you surprised feel when you surprised him or her? How does it feel when God surprises us?

AT DINNER: Here are some great discussion starters:
- How did the Israelites get trapped?
- What did God do to surprise them?
- How does God surprise us when we are in need of help?

AT BEDTIME: Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse: “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” Psalm 34:11 (NIV)

NBKIDS is excited about having the opportunity to minister
to children ages 6 weeks - 5th grade.

The Children's Ministry at New Beginnings Church exists to introduce children to Jesus Christ, develop a relationship with Him, disciple children to live a life that reflects the love of Christ, and to learn how to share their relationship with Christ to others. In short, our purpose is to raise up children to know Christ, grown in Christ, and live like Christ: To Reach Up. Reach In. Reach Out.
