VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!
JULY 13th - 17th
Hello church family!
Plan your summer now!
This year’s vacation bible school is True North! We have Jesus—our true north! Give kids a rock-solid foundation and point them to Jesus, their unmovable, unshakable friend forever!
Guide kids on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where northern lights glow over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and glistening glaciers. As kids trek the tundra, they’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus, True North VBS shows them that he is a faithful friend we can always trust. He’s our True North!

BOTTOM LINE: We need to obey God’s call and trust his lead.
OBJECTIVE: Kids will learn the importance of obeying God.
KEY PASSAGE: Jonah 1 & 2, Jonah and the Fish
MEMORY VERSE: “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” Psalm 34:11 (NIV)

HANGING OUT: Make this week’s lesson real: When you call to your kids this week, and they don’t listen, remind them gently what happened when Jonah chose not to obey God. (For effect, start humming the Jaws theme;)
AT DINNER: Here are some great discussion starters:
- Why did Jonah run the other way when God sent him to Nineveh?
- How did God get Jonah turned around?
- What should we do when God sends us in one direction?
AT BEDTIME: Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse: “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” Psalm 34:11 (NIV)
PARENT TIME: What you need to know: God has a plan and purpose for all of our lives, and only we can fulfill that plan. Pray for God to reveal his calling for each of your family members, and pray that you will all have the faith needed to follow God’s lead.
